"Jethro", its a name that hasn't been popular since the early 1980s or 1990s, and thus, when its heard, the question of "What kind of name is Jethro?" or the reaction "I can't see anyone calling their kid that" is not unusual. The protagonist of TRON 2.0, son of Alan and Lora Bradley (of the original TRON) has the supposed "misfortune" of being named Jethro.
The contraction "Jet" is said to be used by everyone except of Lora, who prefers to call her son by his given name as opposed to his nickname. If his reaction to Dr. Arnspiger (in The Ghost in The Machine) using his given name is anything to go by, Jet prefers that Lora is the only person who uses it. Or maybe there's a chance that he's embarrassed by the name himself, who knows?
